Skoda launches Fabia Monte Carlo special edition

Skoda is releasing a special edition Fabia in Europe, called Monte Carlo. The Fabia is based upon the SE (Ambiente) trim-level and was produced to celebrate 100 years of the Monte Carlo Rally and 110 years of Skoda’s participation in motorsport.

Fabia Monte Carlo features tinted headlights, 17” alloy wheels (16” in Continental Europe), black door mirrors, roof, and radiator grille. Inside, red or black and black sports seats and red stitched leather steering wheel, handbrake and gearstick gaiter feature.

Five engine variants are available; three 1.2 and two 1.6 CR TDI. The engine range starts with the naturally-aspirated 1.2 68bhp which starts at £12,755. The most expensive variant is the 1.6 TDI 105PS at £15k. All engines are linked to a slick 5 speed manual transmission. Order books open 24th January.

Minivan Skoda by VW Touran

Skoda has started development projet of a compact minivan which should appear in three years on the conveyor. Is information from French edition L'automobile.

Novelty it's planned to construct on a platform of minivan VW Touran and to offer with the same engine. Is expected, that the price for a minivan will begin from 15,000 euro (for the comparison, the most accessible Touran will be on sale for 19,000 euro). The novelty will make a competition: Ford C-Max, Renault Scenic and Citroen C4 Picasso.

Updated VW Up

As informed earlier, company Skoda prepares for an exit on the market some more new models. The compact car constructed on the basis of VW Up becomes one of them!. The car will be offered both in three, and in five-door updating, and in scale of engines will make 1,0 and 1,2-litre units.

Other novelty, whose debut is planned for 2012-2013, this the car of a golf class which in ruler Skoda will take a place between "Fabia" and "Octavia". Besides, the Czech company, according to some information, works and over the budgetary sedan constructed on the basis of Octavia and intended for emerging markets of India and China.

"Charged" Skoda Fabia RS has started tests

The prototype of "charged" hatchback Skoda Fabia RS has started tests. As writes Autoweek.nl, the experimental version of the future novelty has been noticed on Northern loop of a Nurnburgring.

Serial version Skoda Fabia

Serial Fabia RS, predictably, will present in March, 2010 on a motor show in Geneva. According to British magazine Autocar, the novelty will be equipped by the 1,4-l petrol motor with double pressurisation (the turbine and the compressor), developing 180HP. Now with such engine it's completed Seat Ibiza Cupra, and in the future will appear and on VW Polo GTI.

No other details about Fabia RS yet are informed.
Meanwhile, in 2010 Skoda Fabia will get not only the "charged" updating, but also will carry out easy face lifting. The premiere updated Skoda Fabia will take place on the Geneva motor show.

Skoda has shown the first photos universal Superb

On Tuesday company Skoda has extended the first official photo of the version of model Superb with a body "universal".

The novelty will receive traditional prefix Combi in the name and will be presented general public on automobile show in Frankfurt which will take place on September, 15th this year. About it it is spoken in the press release "Skoda".

At present company Skoda has not extended the detailed information on scale of engines or the size and luggage space volume. It is supposed, that in the European market universal Superb will receive the same scale of motors, as a flagman sedan: three petrol units in volume 1,4, 1,8 and 3,6 litres developing 122, 160 and 260HP, and also three diesel engines power from 105 to 170HP Also it is expected, that the system of a full drive will be accessible to a novelty also.

As it was informed earlier, in sale universal Skoda Superb will arrive in the end of current year.

VW starts manufacture Skoda in cost less €5,000

Concern Volkswagen plans to start manufacture within the limits of brand Skoda budgetary model, cost no more €5 thousand, writes Autocar referring to the German sources.

On their data, entering in VW brands Skoda and Seat will receive in lineups by one variant VW Up! (On a photo).

In structure Skoda the model will receive name Joyster. Thus edition sources in Skoda have not confirmed the information, having informed that any decision is not accepted yet, and name Joyster has been used for conceptual car Skoda and is not variant Up!

Skoda descends on Switzerland with a Yeti

Europeans are about to get one more soft-roading cute 'ute to add to their shopping lists now that Skoda, Volkswagen's Czech subsidiary, has released the production version of the Yeti at the Geneva Motor Show. First shown in concept form back at the 2005 show in Geneva, the production Yeti keeps the same basic design as its conceptual forebear, but we think it loses some of what made it so interesting in the first place.

Gone is the contrasting white roof that was obviously cribbed from Toyota's FJ Cruiser but looked perfect in this application. So too gone are the flanks, now smoothed out and looking very first-gen Honda CR-V-ish and missing the hidden rear door handles from the concept.

Inside, the Yeti features the same innovative seating arrangement as the Roomster, featuring three separate rear buckets that can individually slide fore and aft or be removed completely. Gas and diesel-powered engines ranging from 1.2 liters to 2.0 liters will be offered with up to 170 horsepower along with a choice of front- or all-wheel drive. Expect sales in Europe to begin later this year.

2009 Skoda Superb first official images

Skoda Auto revealed the first official photographs of the new Superb that will be unveiled in march at the Geneva Motor Show. Offering really generous space, the new Skoda Superb is a leader in its class (medium/upper medium class cars).

With 4,838 mm in length, 1,783 mm in width, 1,461 mm in height and a 2,761mm-long wheel base, the new Skoda Superb offers a number of smart technological solutions, including adaptive “look-round-corner” headlamps, a new electronic air conditioning system, an automatic parking assistant system, and more. As safety was one of the top priorities in developing the new vehicle, the new Superb has altogether nine airbags.

The new Skoda Superb will be available with three petrol and three diesel engines (77 - 191 kW) and with both manual and automatic transmission systems.

The new Skoda Superb will receive a world premiere at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show and will be manufactured in Škoda Auto’s plant in Kvasiny.
